Abstract

Quantum computing threatens to render obsolete the public-key cryptography that securesvirtually all modern digital communication, financial transactions, and data storage. Shor's algorithm, when executed on a sufficiently large fault-tolerant quantum computer, would breakthe RSA, Diffie-Hellman, and elliptic curve cryptosystems
