Abstract

This study explores the effects of Ayurvedic and Naturopathic treatments on biochemical parameters in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) patients. As T2DM continues to rise globally, conventional pharmacological treatments often fail to address the root causes of the disease. Ayurveda and Naturopathy offer holistic approaches, focusing on restoring balance through personalized treatments targeting the underlying factors of diabetes, such as insulin resistance and inflammation. Ayurvedic herbs like Giloy, bitter gourd, and turmeric, and naturopathic practices like fasting, detoxification, and herbal remedies, have been linked to improved glucose control and overall metabolic health. This study investigates the combined effect of these therapies on biochemical markers, including fasting and postprandial blood sugar, HbA1c, cholesterol, and oxidative stress, over a 12-week intervention period. Results indicate significant improvements in blood glucose levels, lipid profiles, and reduced inflammation in patients receiving Ayurvedic and Naturopathic treatments, particularly in the combined therapy group. These findings suggest that integrating both therapeutic approaches could offer a comprehensive solution for managing T2DM, although further research is needed to confirm these results in larger, controlled trials.
