Urban intersections are critical nodes in transportation networks where conflicting traffic streams interact, often leading to congestion, safety risks, and operational inefficiencies. These challenges are particularly severe in developing cities with mixed-traffic environments
characterized by heterogeneous vehicle compositions, poor lane discipline, and high pedestrian activity.
